Why are people inconsiderate when it comes to snow? Down our road one household has cleared their path and driveway and piled it up across the pavement forcing pedestrians out into the road! Tsk the common sense of some people!

I bet I'm not the only one who remembers as a child, clearing snow outside our house and neighbours and along the paths for everyone's convenience and not having to think about being sued!

Hi Everyone I just thought I'd come on and see what everyone has been up to Micky, looks like you have been busy, sorting out for a new home and getting your final bits to stay down under. Kids have been doing well too. How is Michael settling now? I read on msn once, a while ago that he was missing the uk. Our Dan has passed his driving test too, last Oct, then a month later had a bump. Hit an ex cop....lol, all was ok, Pete lashed up Dan's car up to keep him going, but he had to pay the guy £400, a lesson learnt (we hope) its no wonder they charge so much ins for 17yr old lads... young boy racer! And lainy, Have you still packed up them old fags?? I can't beleive it!! wondering what you will spend all your new found money on. Well done, its not so bad once you get your head around it. We had a small sprinkling of snow last night, just a dusting on the cars, the roads are clear, we never get much here. Well whats happening with Ox, any news there? it must be a year now since we played, I really miss the Sunday sessions and rushing home from work on a friday night to try and catch the 10pm I'm sorry I don't get on here too much, I am slack! and must try harder! Hope everyone is ok. Take care all x x

Nice to see you again Jess - sounds like you have been busy.
Yes - still 'fagless' - just over 3 months now - I should've put the money spent on one side but didn't. I do find I can go out and buy things though - bought a combi microwave on Friday - more disposable cash - you can't beat it!
No news on Ox as yet - wordsteal is back though. It will be a year in April which was when Hoyle went offline.
See you soon!

well i have worked at Tiptop for the last 25 months through an agency, i was about to leave & they have offered me fulltime work..i have filled in the application, but im not too sure if i want the. job..mainly as it has taken 25 months to prove that i am worth taking on.... i have seen at least 25 drivers comgo & i have trained up at least 3 of them...they got obs b 4 i did & i was gutted...the reason for that is that i hurt my back shortly after i started working for Tiptop thru an agency...did that after the 1st couple of months...anyhow..its go to a point now were they want me as a fulltime driver....but i have still to prove myself...even after 25 soddin months of sloggin ,,,,they want me to go for a "special" test.....just to show my back is ok & i wont claim against them....deep down i want to tel em to shove it where the sun dontn shine....on the other hand i need the security of a steady income...what do i do?
i want the job & love the job...but im so bloody angry

That's the trouble with the world today when it comes to employment. An employers knows that you ARE the right person for the job but you still have to go through health and safety checks, a probationary period (which seems to be quite common these days) and gawd knows what else. It's ridiculous but as usual, we don't have a leg to stand on - we either accept or not. imho, we are no longer a "valued" employee, we are merely a statistic. I remember the days when my dad (RIP), back in the sixties and seventies could start a job one morning, decide he didn't like it, left, then walked into another job in afternoon! Anyhow, I can understand and sympathise how you feel Micky. it really is annoying. Just plough on and I'm sure all will work out for the best in the long run. You deserve it!

Can totally understand your frustration Micky and remember when you did your back in. If I were in your shoes I think I'd take their offer and be looking for something else so that when you do find a job that suits you, THEN you can tell this lot to shove it lol

just caught up on this thread, sounds like our place of work. They have had good people there for over 3 years and are still agency. If they have one day off they go straight to the back of the queue. The only way they seem to give out perm jobs is when someone moves into a leaders position or maybe a setting position. They still expect the agency guys to train newbies for free when they have others getting training money and not doing training. When they do decide to take someone on perm, they have to be drugs and alcohol tested too, and the agency now have to do this when they start aswell as when they get taken on. Its pants! I feel sorry for them, they've been there so long you forget they're still agency and they have become your mates, then at the drop of a hat work ring the agency and say a person is not wanted anymore. At xmas last year they put all the agency off for 3 days. Some are couples, so they lost 6 days money. And this year they are doing a new paperwork system and there will be no production for 2 weeks so the agency will get laid off again. Can sympathise with your situation but its the same here too. Should have a time limit on agency staff. x

gl with the 1st aid Micky - just passed mine- again - good to go now for another 3 years! It is amazing how things change in 3 years - from not supposed to having certain things in first aid boxes - you can have what you like providing you can justify it with a risk assessment - I would think cotton wool is still major no-no whatever they say! Also they have added a bit more to the recovery position!

I haven't done a first aid course since 2004. I'm thinking I should do a refresher.
