The date and time is shown is several places. Firstly, to denote the present date and time; this is shown below your User Control Panel option (top left) on the Board Index. The others, when viewing a list of forums, topics and posts (date and time of last posts / author posts).
If you wish to change the way the time and date is displayed, you can and this is done within your User Control Panel (UCP). Once you have entered your UCP, click on the Board Preferences in the options on the left hand side.
From the My date format: drop-down box, you can choose from various formats to suit your preference. The time and date shown in each option is "live".
